The structure of the optical cable involves encasing 250μm optical fibers within a loose-tube made of high-modulus material, filled with waterproofing compound. The loose-tube and FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) are twisted together in an SZ stranding. Water-blocking yarn is added within the cable core to prevent water ingress, followed by extruding polyethylene to form the cable sheath. A ripcord can be used underneath the cable sheath to tear it open.
