Helical Suspension Set for OPGW
Helical Suspension Set is mainly used for hanging and supporting optical fibre cable on straight pole and tower, to transmit axial load and divert axial pressure which provide well protection for optical cable, to avoid emergencies happen such as too small bending radius or stress concentration. Grip strength of the Suspension Set is larger than 15%-20% rated tensile strength of the cable, which is fatigue resistance and can serve as vibration reduction.
Composition:inner twisted wire, outer twisted wire, suspension component and connecting hardware.
Purpose:To serve as a support for suspending fiber optic composite ground wires on straight towers or towers with angles ≤ 25 °.
Characteristics:
1、Helical Suspension Set for OPGW will disperse the stress of suspension point to the whole length of helical armor rods; effectively reduce static pressure and dynamic stress caused by Aeolian vibration; to protect OPGW cable from the damage caused by above mentioned factors, greatly improve fatigue resistance of the cable, and extend the service life of OPGW cable.
2、OPGW Helical Suspension Set is divided into two types in according to span length, fall head and tensile strength of the electrical power line, including Double layers with single suspension point OPGW Helical Suspension Set (abbreviation is Single Suspension Set) and Double layers with dual suspension point OPGW Helical Suspension Set (abbreviation is Double Suspension Set).
Features:
a、The suspension clamp has a large contact area with the OPGW optical cable, with uniform stress distribution and no stress concentration points. At the same time, it enhances the stiffness of the optical cable at the hanging point, providing better protection.
b、It has good dynamic stress tolerance and can provide sufficient grip strength (18% UTS) to protect the safe operation of OPGW optical cables under unbalanced load conditions. The outlet suspension angle (single side) can reach 15 °~18 °.
c、This structure is equipped with flexible rubber clamps to enhance self damping and reduce wear.
d、End rounding treatment has increased the corona initiation voltage.
e、The high-quality aluminum alloy material improves the mechanical and anti-corrosion properties of the wire clamp, greatly extending its service life.

a、Choose the appropriate tension clamp based on the ultimate tensile strength and outer diameter of OPGW optical cable.
b、Quantity configuration: 1 set/terminal tower (including gantry); 2 sets/tension tower, angle greater than 25 ° and OPGW connecting tower.
c、The standard configuration of this wire clamp is based on the right-handed twisting direction of the outermost layer of OPGW. If the outermost twisting direction of OPGW is left-handed, it should be specified in the purchase contract.
d、After withstanding full tension, it is recommended to use this wire clamp in one go.
