Helical Tension Set for OPGW

Helical Tension Set is mainly used in optical cable installation on strain tower, angle tower and dead-end tower. The material of Helical Tension Set is aluminum-clad steel or galvanized steel wire which has excellent mechanical and electrical performance, to insure strong electrochemical corrosion and fatigue resistance. Grip strength of the Helical Tension Set is no less than 95% Rated Tensile Strength of the cable.OPGW guy grip, namely guy grip dead end or dead end cable grips, is designed to connect OPGW cables and tensile poles(or towers).

material:
1、The wire clamp is made of materials such as galvanized steel wire and aluminum clad steel wire.
2、A complete set of OPGW Helical Guy Grip includes aluminum alloy or aluminum or aluminum-clad steel dead-end,structural reinforcing rods, supporting fittings and grounding wire clamps etc.

 

Design:
1、Aluminium Clad Steel rods can protect and provide cushioning to the OPGW cables.
2、Guy Grip will not cause undue stress to the OPGW cables due to the special design of helical rods, therefore, the normal lifetime of cable system is ensured.

 

Purpose and Structure:
1、Wire clamps can be used on bare conductors and overhead insulated conductors of main and branch distribution lines. Can replace the commonly used tension clamps, including bolt type, on current lines;
2、The wire clamp has a simple structure, with pre twisted legs twisted together to form an empty tube, and a pre formed twisted ring at the rear. When the hollow tube formed by pre twisted legs is wrapped around the wire, it can generate extremely strong gripping force, and the twisted ring is used to fix it on the insulator.

FAQs:
1. What is the production process of the guy grip dead end?
Step 1: Cutting machines cut the aluminum or steel wire into an ideal length, then the aluminum or steel wire will be performed into the helical shape.
Step 2: Use a cable tie to pack the aluminum or short steel wire pieces together, then the bundled wire is dipped in glue. Dry up the bundled wire and then cut off the cable’ s tire. And dip all the wires in glue again.
Step 3: Spray sanding: sanding is needed to enhance the strength of its grips.
Step 4: the middle part of the wires is made to stand and bent into two legs.

 

2. How to install the guy grip dead end?
Step 1: Install the thimble clevis and insert one leg of the guy grip dead end.
Step 2: Make the two legs of the dead end cable grips parallel. Make a color label on the cable, pay attention to the guy grip color mark should fit the label on the cable to grab the legs of the guy grip.
Step 3: Grab the guy grip dead end again to ensure the cable is fully wrapped by the preformed grip.

b、Quantity configuration: 1 set/terminal tower (including gantry); 2 sets/tension tower, angle greater than 25 ° and OPGW connecting tower.
c、The standard configuration of this wire clamp is based on the right-handed twisting direction of the outermost layer of OPGW. If the outermost twisting direction of OPGW is left-handed, it should be specified in the purchase contract.
